The Resurrection of a Boat

Friday, April 28, 2000

We met Poley (Rev. Holton Dickson) when we first visited Salt Cay, he is the contractor that restored our house. He is an honest man, full of integrity and goodwill with a wonderful sense of humor and great laugh. Poley is also the minister of the Methodist Church on the island.

There are no pictures of the blessing.  Of the sixty people on the island, about thirty-five of us where present and joined hands in a circle while Poley gave the blessing.  It was a wonderful unity.

Following the blessing, Poley added some personal words of thanks to Mike for working so hard to get the boat working again to benefit the island and then led us in a cheer - "hip, hip, hip.... Hurray! hip, hip, hip... Hurray! hip, hip, hip... Hurray!"
